Not with access to our results, because whoever seeks them can find them on the web, but in using them once they discover them. Christopher Alexander and I provide working tools, design methods, typologies, checklists, etc. that can help a practitioner to produce adaptive buildings. All those tools are available for free or for the price of a book. But today’s architects are not trained to apply these analytical tools; they only know how to copy images. And I refuse to give them images to copy, because that misses the whole point of originality and adaptation. Thinking strictly in terms of images misses the human aspects of the building, ignores the users, their feelings, their long-term health. Architects have to retrain themselves to think analytically. And, for a discipline that was devastated of inherited knowledge and has run for decades using almost no design intelligence, the depth of our results can be overwhelming.”
"Dette var meget trist lesning, og synd ikke Israel har et arkitekturopprør ala Arkitekturopprøret Norge. En ting er at dette er nitrist modernisme, en annen ting er at høyhus er inhumant, særlig for barn, og har ingenting å gjøre med gode bymiljøer. Ofte får man også mindre tetthet med høyhus, ifht. den tradisjonelle byen.
De burde latt høyhusene være i Tel Aviv, og latt den hellige byen Jerusalem være i fred for dette her.
Tel Aviv fungerer fordi den har et tradisjonelt gatenettverk, i likhet med Tokyo.
Dette blir veldig "tårnet i parken", så da fikk vel Le Corbusier til slutt ødelagt verdens religiøse hovedstad, og ikke Europas hovedstad Paris, slik det var hans intensjoner.
Voldsomme protester i Paris mot nye Tour Triangle Tower, som heldigvis har ført til en gjeninnføring av maks 12 etasjer eller 37 meter for nye bygg."
"Det er trist at majoriteten her gir tommellen opp for denne massive ødeleggelsen av den hellige byen Jerusalem, fra modernistenes side. Jeg hadde gledet meg til å gå Israels nasjonalsti, når jeg fikk muligheten, men med dette her i bakhodet klarer jeg det ikke.
Det spørres om hva som er alternativet? Dette er nyurbanismen, som har produsert massevis av materiale for hvordan å bygge tett og tradisjonelt, så alternativet finnes i bøtter og spann.
Med glede kan jeg melde at jeg nettopp fant at "ANTi-ArCHiTECTUrE

Jeg venter med å besøke Jerusalem, til disse skyskraper-planene er lagt i skuffen, og de modernistiske skyskraperne man evt. har bygget, er demolisert. Den jødiske staten har plikt til å ivareta verdens helligste by, til menneskehetens beste!

Dessverre kan nå det samme sies om Jerusalem, som hva her sies om Athen. Så enn så lenge blir det kun Paris og vandringer etter The Way of St James (Via Podiensis), på meg.
